Sr Engineer - Quality

Summary of Role:
GLOBALFOUNDRIES Malta, NY seeks an experienced Engineer to support the Supplier Quality Management for various material commodities and Key Equipment /Spare Part Suppliers to achieve zero excursion zero defect due to supplier issues, and to drive Supplier Development through Continuous Improvement Programs, so as to ensure consistent supply of good quality product and services to GLOBALFOUNDRIES.
Essential Responsibilities:
Develop Supplier Quality framework for Fab8, utilizing best models from Singapore, Dresden & Northeast Corridor.
Continuously improve & maintain the effectiveness of quality systems to assure world class quality of production materials / subcontractor services and to manage & develop specific commodity suppliers / critical consumables subcontractors / calibration subcontractors to meet GLOBALFOUNDRIES' quality goals & expectations.
Drive & develop suppliers / subcontractors to provide consistent, good quality product & service through execution & continuous enhancement of the following activities / systems:
Supplier capability assessment & qualification process
Supplier Performance rating
Supplier Quality, Technical & Business review
Supplier Quality System, Process and Product audit
Review Suppliers' SPC program & drive for continuous improvement
Strategic Commodity Teams
Proactive and lead corrective/preventive action teams for timely resolution of issues pertaining to quality of product or services provided by suppliers / subcontractors. This will require mastery of principles and working knowledge in various analytical equipment or failure analysis tools, material characterization to enable root cause analysis for various materials used in the fab.
Continuous effort to streamline SQC procedures for productivity improvement
Manage change request from suppliers / subcontractors, ensuring no disruption to the material supply
Ensure on time follow-up on implementation of effective Corrective / Preventive actions or improvement plans identified through audit, performance rating, CAR
Drive for compliance to Automotive requirement for key suppliers
Publish periodic performance measurement indices for SQE to drive suppliers / contractors quality improvement activities
Maintain Approved Supplier List in coordination with Procurement
Lead internal / cross-functional teams in problem solving / benchmarking / continual improvement programs. This shall include collaborating with suppliers on special projects or Continuous Improvement Programs or DOE.
Close support and engagement with internal customers and sister sites
Operate in a flexible environment, and support other QRA functions.
Perform all activities in a safe ad responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
Required Qualifications:
Master's Degree in an Engineering or Science Discipline
Experience in supplier development program, knowledge of IATF or ISO 9000 quality system preferred.
Minimum 2-4 years relevant working experience
Audit experience & good knowledge of SPC is critical
Strong problem solving skills along structured methods/practices
Requires travelling at minimum 30% for supplier audits or visits.
Proficiency on various system & applications tools ( i.e. JMP, Minitab etc)
Language Fluency: English (Written & Verbal)
Preferred Qualifications:
Wafer fabrication and/or foundry knowledge will be a plus
Tactful & discreet in handling confidential information
Independent & resourceful, good leadership quality, able to challenge norms
Project management skills
Good communication / interpersonal skills

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
