Facilities Chemical Senior Technician

GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab 8 is seeking highly skilled and motivated technicians to become part of our state of the art factory in Malta, New York. This position in the Facilities Chemical Operations department will be required to sustain and support Chemical Tool Turn/Turn-Off (TOTO) activities to manufacturing tools and continuously improve TOTO activities to timely support the fab operation. GLOBALFOUNDRIES is a 24/7 manufacturing facility providing technician support across all shifts, the Chemical Technician position works on a regular work week of 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday. The candidate will help lead the facilities organization and GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab 8 to world class levels of excellence.
Specific Responsibilities:
Be an active participant in all Facilities safety programs and help ensure compliance with all EHS
policies and regulations by visitors, contractors, and employees of GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab8
Assist chemical operations engineers to coordinate TOTO activities with manufacturing tool owners
Assist in the creation and amendment of operations and maintenance specifications and procedures
Mentor and coach junior technicians
Support trouble-shooting of Chemical and slurry valve manifold boxes(VMBs) and field input and output Panels(FIOPs) to enable automatic chemical request/demand by manufacturing tools
Assist and participate in the response, investigation, and resolution of contamination or other quality issues.
Participate in the qualification of new chemical and slurry lines or systems and the facilitation and qualification of process tools.
Assist in the review and approval of EHS, operations, and maintenance procedures and specifications.
Partner with other Senior Technicians and Management in identifying training requirements and safety procedures in assigned specialty areas
Partner with Engineering, Staff technicians and other specialty technicians on various facilities projects
Participation on the facilities Emergency Response Team may be required
Perform additional duties as assigned and assist other specialty areas as required
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
Required Qualifications
Education/Experience ? Education and experience requirements include any one of the options listed below. (Relevant facilities experience is defined as a facilities technician in a manufacturing environment with major emphasis on chemical handling, awareness on high purity chemical handling.)
2 Year Technical Associates Degree in Science, Math, Engineering, Semi-Conductor operations or a related discipline with a minimum of 4 years relevant facilities experience.
Equivalent military training / experience with a minimum of 4 years relevant facilities experience.
Certification from an accredited trade school with a minimum of 6 years relevant facilities experience
High school diploma with a minimum of 10 years relevant facilities experience
Fluent in English Language ? written & verbal
Physical Capacity Demands ?
Able to perform shift work on a 12 hours per day shift schedule if required
Able to work in a cleanroom environment per semi-conductor protocol/requirements
Able to wear all required clean room protective clothing and equipment for normal 12 hour per day shift (excluding breaks)
Able to wear appropriate PPEs to handle chemicals( including SCBA, respirators and Tywes
Ability to perform work in a standing position for majority of a 12 hour shift (excluding breaks)
Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a periodic basis throughout the shift (preventive maintenance) and/or process issues

Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation.
Familiarity with Lean processes & activities and Kaizen teams
Experience operating facilities support systems using a Facilities Maintenance and Control System
Minimum of 5 years direct experience working in semi-conductor manufacturing or in semi-conductor tool/equipment/facilities maintenance
Able to wear upgraded PPE in accordance with Emergency Response Protocols and OSHA standards as a participating member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and become ERT/First Aid/CPR qualified.
Preference given to candidates with 2 year Associates Degree over equivalent years of experience
Demonstrated ability to operate computer programs including Microsoft Office and SAP
Demonstrated work performance in an environment requiring high level of attention to detail and timeliness.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize activities.
Strong team player with ability to work well within a global team.
Demonstrated mechanical abilities with experience in maintenance and operation of equipment

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
